Any advice for juniors who wish to pursue as a Field Engineer?
- Find your goal – What role you want to work as, which company, where; local or overseas, when is the opening, the requirements, who and how to showcase what you can bring to the table.
- Know how far you are – What exactly are you lacking in that list of requirements; certifications, internship experience, knowledge, visibility, opportunity/openings.
- Draw a roadmap – How do you attain the requirements eg. online free courses, LinkedIn optimization, career/STEM fairs. If any is impossible, there is always substitutions to a certain requirement.
- Be persistent and patient.
- When you think you’ve made it, don’t get comfortable and continue putting efforts until your goal is met 100%.
